I'm starting my own table maintenance business and was wondering what was a fair price to charge a customer for the following....

1. Table leveling
2. Replace bed cloth
3. Replace rail cloth
4. Table assembly
5. Replace rail rubber

Also, what in your opinion, is the best method to finish slate seams?

There are a lot of variables that will come into play but here is a broad example...

1.) $75 and up (legs only) $190 and up (releveling slate)
2.) $190
3.) $25 to strip rails and $59 to cover plus material
4.) $200 and up
5.) $125 FIRM!!! plus material

So, if someone calls and said that he just got a used table and it is in pieces in his basement, would you charge (190 level; 190 bed; 84 to take off old cloth and put new cloth on the rail; and 200 for assembly= $664)? When I was doing recovering last year, I would charge $250 flat. I always felt I was UNDERpaid. There were always problems. Every job seemed to take between 5 and 7 hours. Also, my problem is that it takes me too long to do the rails. About 20 minutes for each one. I am thinking about recovering again but I was looking for a more realistic charge. Another thing, what do you do about the nitwits that go over your job with a fine tooth comb. I sweated two jobs last year, because the customer was not happy with my work (?. Hey, I might not be the best, but I'm not a slug either). Any luck with collecting up front?

1. $50.00 per hr ..broken down to the 1/4 hr.(time is money)
2. see #4
3. see #4
4. $175.00 set up...plus price of new cloth..for bed and rails...never just replace rails or just bed cloth...it just wont match color very well...it's all or none..reusing bed cloth is in set up price.
5. $15.00 per rail for new rails and facing's..regluing old rail's $10.00 per rail needed to be glued.
6.you need this price also....tear down & move, ...tear down ...$75.00 ...move with out crated slates... $75.00 crated slates around $250.00 moved....
This go's for any size table...hoped I helped...Terry

I'm not a mechanic, but the price I got from a local guy with a great reputation is $350.00 from pieces to a fully assembled table that in his words "will last, and will play well for a long time."
