what do you consider a bad night?

LOL...If I do that, It actually improves my game...wierd...I can just feel the shots and "see" where the balls will go much better!

No such thing as a bad day or night at pool.
Its just like fishing.
A bad day of pool is better than a good day at work.

Altho, I did get my butt kicked sufficiently last night.

Must of had something to do with that cigarette that my opponent gave me
half way thru the session. I think he called it Kush. Never heard of it before.

When I'm testing the rails and not getting out, I try to do a few drills to figure out what's changed in my game. Usually it's my concentration level or pre shot routine.

My gauge is throwing ten balls on the table, giving myself a shot on the one ball (not BIH), and running out 60-70% of the time. Not starting with BIH is more like a game situation.

I try not to get PO'ed if I'm not getting there and I remind myself I'm playing on four inch pockets. When my alignment is correct, it's gonna be a good night. If I'm lazy, not focusing and not giving the pool mind enough feedback to go to autopilot, it can be a bad night.

If I'm in a match and can't do a few drills to check out the problem, I take some time to visualize how I want to stroke the cue ball and play position. It makes me realize what I need to do and get back on track. Sounds corny, but it's something I got from a pro friend. He images his stroke and game even when he's not playing bad. Kind of like a mental tune up.

Best,
Mike
