What do you get from being sponsored?

Me and my league teammates were talking about how much money the pros make from their sponsorships. Anybody here know what the average endorsement deal is and what other perks come with it? We all always talk about how theres no money in pool but if the pros are still getting sponsored then there has to be some money right? Like what is a Cuetec sponsorship worth or even a Lucasi deal? My teammates were assuming it had to be in the six figure range, but I'm assuming its probably more in the $40,000-$50,000. Anybody have any guesses? Hopefully, this isn't like a taboo subject but we all know what football players or baseball players make so I am just curious.

In my business it depends on how big you are and how big your band is. For example if you are Eddie Van Halen a guitar company might pay you a million dollars a year to play and endorse their guitars. If you are a way lesser known artist you might just get free guitars or on an even lower scale you might pay an artist price. I am sure it's the same in pool only of course the money scale would be lower. Like I am sure a guy like Johnny Archer would have a better deal than say Brandon Shuff......

Steamer Cue Sports Ltd. is proud to say that each and every player we sponsor, is given a tee-shirt, and our best wishes.

I would think that you should be able to provide some transportation. Albeit to go coast to coast would have to involve going through the Panama Canal. ...LOL:wink:

I'm afraid that isn't possible at this time.
Some months ago we were traversing the canal from South to North, after a trip to the Lower Antilles, when a novice deck hand inadvertently opened the dump valve to the main setic tank sending some three-thousand gallons of raw sewage over the side. The lock at Gatun, looked like a punch bowl full of cider and soggy ginger snaps.
Needless to say, we are no longer welcomed by the good people of Panama.

Thanks All

Thanks everyone for responding. I guess my assumptions were way off but at least there are sponsorships going around. Good luck to all who have the deals and to those looking for them.

I heard this a few years ago so it may have changed, and maybe I didn't get the whole story. So take it with a big grain of salt.

But one of the fairly well known pros out there had a deal with Predator where he was paid a flat $200 a week. An up-n-coming younger player, not a us open champ.

Obviously he uses the cues, wears the patches, etc. Not sure if there are additional duties and if he's expected to dip into that money for his airfare, hotel or entry fees. So that works out to a 10k contract, if it's every week of the year.

I am pretty sure Earl was well in the 6 digit range with you cuetec at one time. probably the highest deal for pocket billiards sponsorship to date he no longer plays with cuetec i heard he was getting 300+ and he drove a porsche at the time nice house etc real pro deal This was pre divorce and then the economy crash
