What do you use to clean the chalk off of shafts

Honest!!

I used to joke around at the pool hall and say "two cycles in the top rack of the dish washer" until a guy said, in a serious tone, "Really??!!"
I"m a prankster to the bone, but now I know when to be quiet. Usually.

that grit paper does work wonders when wrecking a good shaft lol.

The best method is don't get chalk on the shaft in the 1st place.
Side chalking the cue is a big help in this as well as having clean hands.

A good sealer makes it easy to clean when needed also :)

Magic Eraser=abrasive(very mild)
Green pad=abrasive(not mild and don't ever use one of these unless you hate your cue)

The only way you are going to take dings out with an abrasive is......?

You can put a tiny wet piece of paper towel on the dent and let it sit. Sometimes, depending on if the shaft is well sealed that will work. You can also use a soldering iron on top of the wet PT to steam it out. Another method is one of the little circle bandaids with the bandage moistened. Another is to build a TP in aluminum foil and bring water up to a soft boil, focusing carefully on the dent.
