Bought my girlfriend a Mcdermott M81b Grande cue. Nothing high end, but read description and it said overlayed points...I know what full splice/veneers inlayed into a butt means, but what they mean by that? Thanx AJ

Overlays on guitars are really thin inlays glued to the surface. So I guess that would be similar to a sticker. If it is shell material it would not exactly be a sticker, but instead just really thin material glued to the surface and finished over with a thick finish.

Overlay in cue terms is Decal/Stickers 100% certain.
Inlay means the material is embedded in the cue's wood.

Mcdermott Star/Lucky/Etc cues are made in China and use decal/vinyl/stickers and a clear coat. Process is pretty good for the price for starter cues.
