What does the 314 on Cue Butts mean?

I heard someone talking about their model of cue and said its a 314. I have since noticed that I see different models with 314 some with 414 on the butt. This particular cue was a Lucasi.
What does this number mean?

I am not 100% sure,but I think the 314 stands for pi. The shaft is made by predator and it is made of pie like slices put together to make the shaft. That is what someone once told me. I'm gullible and believe anything. Anyway they make a great shaft.
 
Numbers

on the 'Butt' of a cue might be a series number for that brand of cue.

More than likely, it is on the shaft near the joint indicating a Predator 314 series shaft, which is a 3rd party shaft.

He said the butt of the cue, not anything about a shaft...;)
 
I have a Lucasi with 403 on the Butt. This cue is a S/P model. I also have a 314 Pred. shaft for the Lucasi so my butt is 403 and my shaft is 314 :eek: , so i have me a 717 model of my own design ;) Its called a Predcasi. :rolleyes:

Just my guess, but I'm thinking its a model #. on the Lucasi and for the Pred I also heard the pi thingie.

I caught Jude's joke in his first reply.

But, another funny thing happened at a tournament at Snookers in RI, when I was staking a player, and then got unexpectedly staked myself to play in the tournament.

I had no cue, and found a really nice one on the wall. When I showed it to "my" player, and I said "Wow, look what I found on the wall!", he looked at it, held it, and asked me what type of cue it was. He thought it was a
new predator model, like 309 or whatever the number was.

I told him it was just a brand-new-looking house cue.

Later I realized that number was the weight in grams!

I bought a Lucasi LE-27 a few years back, and it had "526" on the buttcap!....being an avid 14.1 player, I thought that was very cool! :D

Ow my.... DAMN she's hot.

that avatar is EVIL. reminds me of the 4 strippers i got for my bachelor party. Im getting maried in a bit more then a month, and now that i see this picture it reminded me of everything im leaving behind... makes me cry. No more bad girls for me :(
