What drills Pro's use when they practice?

Great thread Tony...I would like to hear Donny, Chris, or John chime in here. I know what drills I do at home, (MDs)....but am curious as well. Also how much time spent on them in say a weeks period?

i rack up 10 ball break take ball in hand and run out.
thats it no drills never have done drills they are overrated.
break the balls every time if i break bad i break again.

when you say chris if you mean bartram i think i read a post of his on here where he said he doesn't do drills, he just runs the hell out of the 10 ball ghost. again i am not 100% on that but i am pretty sure that's what he posted.

you are right.
diff strokes for diff folks.
i dont like drills that doesnt mean its not good for some people just not me.
i think people worry to much about things that dont matter in pool.

I couldn't agree with you more Chris. The only drill I do is checking out my alignment of shots before I start playing. I line up the solid balls two or three inches below the side pocket. Using the numbers on the balls as targets, I line them up so if I hit the number, i make the shot. I do this for five or ten minutes before I start to play.

I also break a couple of racks to make sure I like the way I'm breaking before I start to play.

i think that's a great attitude to have. i think a lot of us get caught up in the whirlwind of info available and start worry about that things that just really shouldn't be worried about. and yes, i also agree, different stokes for everybody, but i do think everybody needs some form of structured practice to stay sharp. play the ghost, run drills, something to keep the edge on.
