What else hits like a Pechauer?

Looking for a new playing cue. Playing with a Pechauer right now but want to expand my search a bit. Love the way it plays but I can't find a design that I'm happy with. Price range is $4-700 new or used. What other cue makers should I be looking at?

For reference:
-I consider myself an average player. I can run a rack in 8-ball around once every 15 racks. Practicing and playing a few times a week and getting better.
-Prefer 13mm and I use a Moori Medium tip. Happy to have cue retipped, just mentioning.
-Definitely want Linen wrap.
-Other cues are a Pechauer Break and a Pechauer Jump.
-Simple designs with points preferred.

Thanks!

Had a Pechauer and went to a Schon. Schon has alittle stiffer hit and a great feeling cue. Also the designs are more to my liking.

My brother had a Pechauer and I hated the way it hit. It felt hollow? dull? It was a real nice looking cue but the hit was different from anything I'd ever played with.

So I don't know what would be similar. But Jeff Olney makes the best cue for your budget(IMO!!!)

You might like Schon. I like the hit of the Pechauer better, personally. I don't think there is a better hitting production cue. Schon has some nice designs, though.

Ive got a Schon STL-4 that I won in a cue raffle. Hits like a dream, a bit heavy for me at 20oz but the hit is superb that why I wont get rid of it. I figure on day I will play with it. Otherwise I play with a Pechauer one of a kind.

Since you like the hit of your Pechauer, I had recommended the Espiritu. I also play with a Schön, and feel there are definitely differences in hit and balance between the two. That is not a cut on either cue. I like both, but I felt the Espiritu would be closer to what you liked/were used to. BTW, all three that I am comparing are steel joint versions.

How did you get the umlat over the o in schon?

Pechauer is unique as a production cue because he cuts his own shafts from scratch. I am in agreement with most that a Schon is similiar but in my opinion it depends on if you have a JP series (Phenolic Joint) or the Pro Series (Stainless Joint) Pechauer. I think the SS joints hit just a tad stiffer than the others. If you are looking for the hit of a Pechauer but want something that is different in appearance than what is available you may want to shop the used market for previous designs I know Pechauer has covered a large spectrum of styles in the past or you can custom order a cue from them any way you want it. I don't know if it would be cost effect to do it but it wouldn't hurt to call them and ask. I haven't spoken to them in years but when I was a cue dealer they were my primary production line and I found them easy to work with and very accommodating.
