I haven't heard anything about the NUTS in several months. What is happening with it? Did they complete a cycle yet, which was 3 months long, if my memory serves me right?

For those who don't remember, the NUTS is a unification of several regional tours across the country. One of its goals was to attract more sponsors by unifying the smaller regional tours into a large, nationwide tour. At the end of each cycle, there was supposed to be a large tournament in each region, and then a national level tournament.

I have been wondering the same thing and am hoping that ther will be additional input from those involved.

I can share my NUTS (experience) with you: The Tiger/ Planet Pool Tour NUTS Playoff went off earlier this year. IIRC, it was rescheduled from its original date, but that was the only thing that approached a hitch of any sort. The event was a 4 player ring-games, 10-ball, with increasing bets and shuffling of players. As we all know, ring-games are total offense and there were lots of good players that were eliminated earlier than expected. The winner, Shaun "The Shirt" Wilkie, IMO was the best player in the event, and the only one that I saw that was putting 3-packs together regularly. Here is the write up from http://www.planet-pool.com/ (2nd to bottom recap on the front page):
The 9 ball division was hard fought near the end as 7 well-matched players battled an entire 60 minute round with no eliminations. In the next round, a 10-ball on the break by Shaun Wilkie eliminated both Jeremy Montgomery and Kevin West. This left the final table of five with Chris Comstock, Walter Koch, Nick Prinsloo and Brett Stottlemyer joining Wilkie. By this time, Wilkie was in dead gear and quickly eliminated Comstock, Koch and Prinsloo. The head to head with Stottlemyer was over in just a few games as Wilkie had most of the chips going in. Wilkie earned $400 plus a BCA Open entry. Stottlemyer earned $275 plus an entry into the Glass City Open.
