What happened to the Varney thread?

This is beyond rediculous! (Jenny I spelled it right just for you hun) :thumbup:

How can whoever is taking these threads away live with themselves. Surely they realize that they are directly contributing to the next person who gets screwed over by KV. We all deserve to know the reasoning behind these decisions.

Surely someone around here is smart enough to know that if you don't like everyone's reaction to a certain problem, you just simply get rid of the problem. Then there is nothing to worry about. No threads to delete, no warnings for people getting upset, etc etc.

What gives?

I do not believe it is wrong to try and protect the other forum members. That is the reason for this post. Plain and simple

A lot of azers are very concerned that people who are confused and lost or not up to speed on the latest Varney nightmares or just new to the forum will get swindled by paying for something on this website then go through a nightmare themselves.

See we love this site and are proud to be members and want to protect innocent fellow pool players from dishonest businessmen.

The only reasons that I can think of that would get a thread deleted, is if it had gotten a bit rowdy with accusations, insults and/or threats flying around left and right, or whatever.

If anyone is going to reply, it's cool to voice an opinion after all, everyone is entitled to their views, but I would hope that each person will post their views in the most civil and respectful manner possible, rather than getting into a volcanicly heated arguement.

As reguards what happens to this thread, Only the mods of AZB can decide that, but I can imagine that they're fed up of the whole varney issue, but at the same time, and so, I would like to post some suggestions for everyone if I may.

And so, I would like to make a suggestion...

Members:-

For those of you who are ticked off for one reason or another, write down why you're ticked off, but take the time to write it down in a respectful and civil manner, this way you will have a fairer chance that a problem can be sorted out by site staff.

Mods:-

I understand that you guys can only do so much in a day and Lord only knows that you must be tired of the whole "Varney Saga", (being a site mod is definitely a thankless job, as I've done it myself a few times and swore that I would never do it again) and so I would ask you please take the time to hear out the unhappy members and see what can be done to find a compromise that where everyone can agree with.


I don't know if this of any help or not, but I thought that I would post this in the hope that it will be able to do some good in helping to get some normality back on the site again.

i thought i explained the varney situation for you guys, but in case you missed in the other thread:
Varney lives in some sort of time vortex thingy where he is actually way ahead of us; therefore when you order a cue from him and he says 90 days, he does have it done in his 90 days, but he is so far ahead of the rest of us that we have to wait a whole year to get it. It also explains how he knew that Fatboy liked his cue before he even got it.

It seems there is some legal reason the threads are getting deleted.

There should be a transaction guidelines sticky!

I asked to have a thread deleted once when a now banned member,Rack em Zach em,spammed my thread with trash.

The best way to figure out who you're doing business with is to read through their posts.

If you erase the thread, you erase the record! Locking I'm ok with. Deleting is harmful unless there is a legal reason to do so. ie. Slander/threats.

I agree, BPG24. I will repeat my take on this "situation":

...another part of this type problem is people "covering" (and not giving at least a temporary ban) for a person who is depressed. "Tough Love or Tough Tactics" are necessary to confront the denying. Angry outbursts (postings) are consistent with depression, too. I'm not making excuses for the person , just trying to let readers who might "care".............do whatever might be necessary to remedy the problem.

It's in my limited professional opinion that not banning this person might be in his worst interest. A good jolt of reality might a step in the right direction. :confused:
