Here's something I observed about baseballs vs. superballs.

When I was a teenager, I gave my buddy Bob a superball to hit out over a nearby ravine. He was the best ball player in our little burb, and he could really drill a baseball.

He hit it out of hand with everything he had. It made a sharp sound as I recall, not like an aluminum bat (which we didn't have back then), but it definitely had a bit of a ring to it. Then the ball made a distinct whirring sound as it seemed to accelerate until it literally disappeared into the horizon.

I now know that it couldn't really accelerate forward, but it probably picked up a ton of spin due to the nature of the superball surface, which helped it carry really far. To the two of us standing there watching it, we joked that it might land 200 miles away in Yankee Stadium.

Not sure how a pool ball, a golf ball, and a baseball might compare if hit by a bat, but if you threw a superball into the mix, I'd empty my wallet on it winning by 100 yards.
