This could apply to 8/9/10 ball. Let's do 9 ball for the sake of argument.

What if you shoot the 9 ball in the pocket and a different ball pops out?

How about 8 ball. You're solids and shoot the last solid in, call the 8, whack it in and have a solid jump out.

I know these are highly unlikely, but, what if.

Then I think its time to call in the, Orkin Man, because it would be obvious that you have an infestation of Pocket Gremlins.

What if, you shot the 8 in and one of your opponents, pulled out a Blackberry phone with a time warp app and kept making you shoot the 8 in until you missed.

But, the balls that have been pocketed stay down so it wouldn't matter. Weirder things have happened tho.
