What is a Merry Widow cue?

Not sure if this is right, but I take it to mean a cue with no points or decoration in the butt sleeve or forearm, handle can be wrapped or wrapless. Does an unadorned, one-piece butt qualify as a Merry Widow? Can anyone tell me where the term Merry Widow comes from? Thx

The term originated when a husband passed unexpectedly and left behind a two piece cue.
