There are a couple of guys who play pretty good but are always calling so and so player a NIT because they wont bet it up. These are guys these players could rob blind. These name callers would never get into action with a player like you or a Rodney Morris, Archer etc. But I get sick of these jerks who are always egging on a "mark" just to pocket some cash. Many guys feel comfortable playing $20 set nine ball or $20 one pocket. They will lose maybe under a hundred and happily call it a night. These are guys who never bet high but have put their lives on the line with their careers and own homes and support their families and give to charities and support tournaments etc. Who do you think is the NIT? By the way I have never heard any professional player of today call anyone a nit. Maybe it was a legitimate thing during the fat mans time but he called everyone a NIT? These low lifes are usually always putting someone down but is ready to kiss ass when a Mika or a Efren is in town. Whats your take on that.

Yobagua, nits are trying to be somebody that they're not. Whoever they are trying to impress, it doesn't impress anybody.
Pool players have a tendency to know the nits and the ones that are not, and I try to keep myself involved with the ones that are not.

I have dealt with a lot of nits, half-nits, three-quarter nits, and full nits. If everybody could be real and not inflate everything that they try to do, the world would be a lot better place.

That is sort of my definition of a "nit," somebody that pretends to be somebody or something that they are not.
