I think a lot of people get confused because a lot of people are doing all these new joint configurations, as in understand it , the joints are all full ivory piloted joints , the metal you see on the inside is just a metal ring that is installed to reinforce the piloted ivory for the compression fit.. The only piloted ivory tascarella's that don't have this insert are the ones made specifically for Pete Jr..
They are not steel joints that are sleeved with ivory..
But you may want to ask Pete that directly..
As it is possible that he did make a few cues like that.

It is an ivory joint with a stainless insert for the pilot. It allows you to have an ivory compression joint! The hit is very solid. Gives the stiffness of steel with the feel of ivory. Best of both worlds IMHO.
