When I go to Borders or Barnes & Noble, I try to look for new books on pool.

They usually aren't found amongst the books about sports, but can be found stuck in with the books about games.

Today in the book store I looked in the game section....... No pool books.

I went over and looked through the sports section... Again no pool books.

I asked someone working there if they had ordered in any new books on pool or billiards.

I was told that there were 3 books available in the GAMBLING section.

So what is it? A sport? A game? Or just Gambling?

Tennis is a game that is also considered a sport and frequently involves gambling. So where would they locate books for that game? Who knows why one bookstore would do what they do?

eBay says it's an indoor game and is listed under sporting goods, what greater authority is there!?

Borders is just like any other buisness enterprise, demand drives the market. Most of us have become accustomed to ordering from billiard supply stores because they offer a wide variety of titles to choose from....they have a specific target audience....pool players. Borders on the other hand has a target audience of bibliophiles which necesitates stocking a variety of topics......there is only so much shelf space.....so the number of publications on any one subject is always going to be limited.
