I see "deeper payouts" in there, but how about payouts that aren't so ridiculously deep that the people who cash can actually make a couple bucks?
I've never been a fan of the "get your entry fee back" bracket. It takes a lot of money out of the pot to pay a bunch of spots their entry fee back. I'd rather have a shot at making something if I come in the money than breaking even on the entry fee. If I don't cash, I don't cash. I knew what the financial risk was before entering the tournament. Not to mention, if you have to travel to a tournament, the entry fee is usually much less than your travel expenses so you're still stuck when you break even on your entry fee.
I agree as well. And I would have voted more added money -- but I got to the party too late.
Tournament pool is a joke to me, simply because there is just no money there. I'm not blaming anybody, but this is just the simple truth. People go on and on about Europe and Asia playing better. You want to see that change?... Put money into ACTUAL skill enhancing tournaments (yes, that was a shot at leagues)... it'll change real quick. I saw recently Brumback went up to Chicago and beat some of the best bankers in the world for 600 dollars first prize. Man, I think he deserves a million, but oh well.
