Chilton Cue's makes a great Jump Cue system (The Flying Eagle)...it contains a jump cue shaft, with a special short shaft (yes, two tips, one on each end), along with the ability to attach to your butt, as well as an extension. The key to his jump cue system is that it allows you to use the same stroke for any type of jump (same stroke, same speed, etc.). The different cue setups give you various jump lengths, use one end for short jumps, one for longer, etc.

Yes, I remember the flying eagle used to look quite different. If memories serve me correctly, it used to feature a flat laminated shaft, and just a short butt. They changed to the double shafts design and I heard it is quite popular in the Dakota region.

Do they come with a leather tip, and a phenolic, or is the tip an option?

Because it is so light it is very easy to jump with the dart stroke. I like the idea of making it versatile. Innovative idea is always a nice thing to see in the industry.

I remember they had the laminated butt design on their custom cues before the Predator P2, and it looked very neat with all the colors in the lamination.

if the stealth at-1 is a jump only cue why are there 3 pieces to it???

thanks
The Stealth came with three sections. The middle section is hollow, made with maple, with an Olivewood reinforcement (I am not sure if it is still the same, but that is what I have on mine). The third section is solid maple.

Some players believe for long jump and for power jump, it is better to be able to keep a 90 degree angle on the grip, and some players are simply taller and find the 41 inches version too short, so the longer version is preferred.

Actually, I like the balance of the Stealth when it is used with all three sections. The cue seems to offer an extra "whip" to the ball for more spin. I like it for long jump power draws. The solid end section somehow feels very nice for that extra power.

Ned is also one of the best jumper you will ever meet. He offers free jump lessons in all the shows when Stealth has a booth. He also makes very beautiful custom cues. His daughter Melissa Morris plays on the WPBA and also make an appearance at the booth from time to time. I saw her jump less than a chalk apart with the Stealth with a leather tip before, very impressive!

hello, all i am trying to buy a new jump cue, not a jump break, just a jump. what are your thoughts? whats popular these days? i hear the mezz air shooter is good.

The Stealth A-1 Jump cue is by far the best one out there. If you look in the wanted/for sale section, I think Jazznpool might still have some for sale.

My vote would go to the Scorpion jumper.

If you are worried about phenolic tips not holding chalk well, you are mistakened. Most of them hold enough chalk to perform just about any jump.

IMO the most important aspects of a jump cue is the balance, weight and hardness/stiffness. I use a Taiwanese Andy jump cue with a ashwood shaft, it is capable of clearing a full ball using like 15 degress of cue elevation. However the butt is rather heavy to jump anything less than 1 ball distance.

I took out the butt and managed to clear a full ball from half a chalk distance. Thats prove of how much the weight of the jump cue affects its performance. Wondering if anyone could build a jump butt for me.

Of all the major phenolic tips on the market, I personally feel that the Fury really holds chalk very well.

The Scorpion basically has the same tip as a bunjee but is heavier with a graphite shaft, isn't it?

If you can jump so well with a Scorpion, I think you will jump better with a bunjee:) , have you tried it?

But if you want a phenolic cue that can jump a ball real close easily, I think it has to be the Airshooter.

Just my opinion.

Here is one that you can't get.

I ordered a Falcon Jump cue from eBay. It is the most awesome freaking thing around, full balls from a chalks width away, jump draw and stop shots are a breeze!! Too bad it was a prototype and they only made a few, because this thing will help keep the cash in your pocket if you have problems kicking!!! BTW, it is a 3 piece construction similar to the stealth AT1.

Here is the thread. I just bought a AT-1 form jazznpool. I love it. It is the best Jump cue out of the 4 i have. With both handles on it is very easy to get power on long jumps pendelum style. And so far on short jumps i can jump a full ball "Dart Style" from 2 ball's away with one handle. I don't have a home table, so i don't get allot of practice time to jump. For some reasons room owners start getting all weird when i practice jump shots.

I have an Airshooter and when I bought it in Tokyo, I had two options, a Black Ingot (Black Linen with a Special Resin) or a Pressed Ingot (Water Buffalo Hide).

This tips can be seen in this link:

I didn't know that. Thank you.
Which tip did you choose? How do you like it?
Have you tired the new Mezz PowerBreak 2, which is shorter? I tried to jump the ball full cue and it was working fine. The tip was black phenolic, with a white wafer, on a brwon phenolic ferrule.
I like this forum, I can always learn something new. :) Thank you.

PS, I remember Tiger also makes a jump tip, which is leather on a piece of phenolic.

Hi Richard,

Sorry for the delay. I lost track of this thread.

I choose the Pressed Inggot. I'm not a good jumper, but I can jump a bit better than my previous JP. I could probably jump better with the Black Inggot, but I don't like the sound of a Phenolic.

I've tried the PB2, which my friend has, but I still prefer the PB1 (see sig). I've been told by another friend that there is a new Mezz Break callled Deep Impact. It's the one Mika is using.

Thanx, Jhun

The Deep Impact is the one with the word Deep Impact printed above the joint collar, isn't it?

How close can you jump with your air shooter if you dont mind me asking? Can you jump about 1.5 balls away?

I think weight wise, the Airshooter is lighter than the Stealth, so it should be the easiest to jump among all the jump cue with a leather tip.

I, however, find the Stealth can offer a bit better control. I think the butt of the Airshooter is very light and this balance makes it easy to jump but a bit difficult to control the direction precisely. That is just my opinion.

Thank you.

Richard
