I see there is a Accu Rack, and Turtle Rack. I know there were/are others.

What one last the longest, best performing and prefer to use?

Thanks

I got Turtle rack for gift and 7 months and it is still like new. It wont get those folds as many other racks do. Still totally flat. Never had any Accu racks so I don´t know about those but home use definitely I would choose Turtle. Even I heard it is too pricey.. :o

I've had my Accu Rack for about a month. First rack template I have ever had even though I had a Sardo Tight Rack years ago.

So far this thing is doing a great job. Its solved my racking problem as the balls spread out better. Still don't have much luck in the way of making a ball or getting a decent spread though. Of course, even when I do, I still cant hardly ever get out.

Our first ever big event with the Accu-Rack was the 2011 when we did the Music City Open.. Danny Smith managed to pull off a double dip of Neville hill/hill both sets......

Fast forward 5 years... I go by and check on JOB's because I am in the area to see about doing the 2016 Music City Open... Which we ended up doing... My biggest surprise was when I walked into the place and saw a blue template laying on top of the change machine....

It was one of the templates from 2011... I laughed and asked the manager about it and he told me as he reached under the counter and pulled out even more of them that they were still using them pretty much daily....

The old version was never pretty but it is the same geometry... The years had taken it's toll on the appearance but I took it out and racked the balls and it still worked perfectly.... I have no doubt that we don't just out perform the others in 99.9% of the situations we also outlast them and can work in places they have zero shot....

Below is a picture I took while I was there of the old version from 2011 and The version we used this year......

Not familiar with the Turtle Rack, but if it is made of plastic, and gets creased, it is probably shot.

I like the Accu Rack because it is made out of a fabric that can be flattened out if it gets creased.

I've been using these racks for a small tournament that I help run. I think work perfectly well. In the past I bought name brand racks. I keep losing them, so I never found out how long they lasted. These import plastic based template racks do wear out. At these prices, I treat these like chalk & gloves; disposable and replace them every two/three months.

The only complaint I get is the racks are too precise, and can lead to pattern racking. So, it's rack your own and 10-ball on the break doesn't count.

Thanks for the replies.

I was looking at various websites looking for the best price and trying to decide what one to spend $15 to $20 on and came across this website

http://www.aliexpress.com/wholesale...ipCountry=us&g=y&SearchText=Pool+racks&page=2.

At those prices I can try a few different styles for the price of buying one from a reseller. Could also give a few away or sell them for cost.

Hey Renfro,
Got a question. I've noticed my Accu Rack 9-Ball template has some dark spots showing up around the holes. Assume that is normal? I do break a ton of 9-Ball racks by the way.

That's normal, it's the dirt from the balls. Periodically I will hand wash the racks in warm water and dish soap, then take a warm iron to it. They come out almost new.

I think the Accu-Rack is the best racking template available!!!

I have an Accu-Rack and a Magic Rack. The Accu-Rack seems to work better (it's very subjective...they both result in a tight rack because the balls are fairly new) and gets more use.
