What is the best you ever played?

9 racks

at one time i put 9 racks of 9 ball together, i have ran 3 racks of 8 ball many times, but have never ran 4. i made 7 balls on the break on a bar box, the 7 sat in one end pocket the 9 in the other, and yes i did get out. chuck

I have broken and ran 11 straight racks of 8ball on a bar table tornamnet only to take second place in the end. I also made 5 jump shots in a row in one 8 ball rack once to beat a top notch player from wisconson and put him in the losers bracket. Those were my greatest moments. I used to think that I was the best jumper in the world lol I quit pool about 4 months ago sold all my cues and have not played since. I dont smoke but since the smoking bans it seems like there is no good players at the pool hall's any more to play with. So I guess I am retired untill the urge to play the game comes back.:( :(

One whole year of 7 ranking events in the champion division here in Finland. Won 1 event, once I was 2nd, couple of semifinals. I played well in every single match of the season, worst defeats through the season were 7-5 and 9-7 while I was beating top players left and right in every event. Secured my European Pool Championships spot in the last ranking event winning Marko Lohtander 7-6 running 3 racks twice in that match. What was amazing that in almost every practice session (I played maybe twice a week) I was in dead stroke every time from the first shot on. I just didn't play bad at all for a year. I cannot describe the feeling being confident on my game every time I picked up a cue. Cannot also tell why was that and haven't been able to copy that feeling of superiority ever since.

Well, my records are 5 racks in both 8- and 9-ball and 85 in 14.1 in practice and 74-out unfinished in a tournament match race to 75. This 74 ball run was one of those "perfect" Sigel -like runs, never ran out of position and never had to guess what was going to happen, everything happened as I wanted. Three times I've made a ball from a 1pocket break and twice has run out the rack.

Very Good again

Well after going to bed i see everyone come to life. I guess i am just getting old :D Anyway i knew we had some good players on here but i never got to meet many of you guys. I came in the AZ room at the DCC this year but it only a couple of guys there and the board was full so i didn't get to play any. I have never played any straight pool so am not sure what i could do in that. I know one thing i cant play for more then an hour or so at one time the old back just wont let it happen. I only played one pocket a few times and don't really like it for some reason. It looks like the game i am going to have to start playing before long. Willie Joplin is a good friend of mine and i will have to get a set of his tapes and learn the game i guess. Anyway Congratulation again on all of the nice run outs and keep up the good work, Doug
