What is the big deal about pre-flag Masters Chalk???

hmmm

i saw a post on here a while back about there is no difference between pre flag and flag chalk. i hears that he just started putting the flag on the cubes after 9-11 just for patriatism.

i was just going to start a thread about my experience i have had lately with master chalk but will post it here.

a few weeks ago i was playing a room owner on one of his 9' gold crowns with gold simonis cloth. he requires every one to use gold chalk which he provides. i noticed it adhered to my tip much better than the blue does. i really didnt think much about it at the time.

well 2 nights ago i was playing in league and the bar had green master chalk there. when i used it i noticed it adhered much better than the blue does also.

does anyone know why the gold or green would stick to the tip better than the blue ?

Yep. that is a fact. They added a flag to the cube. No conspiracy, no secret formula change ala Coca Cola, but it becomes one of things that just grabs some staying power, and soon, everyone wants the thing they can't get or have, the 'unflagged" chalk.

Personally, I only play with olive green chalk as it does not causing blueing on my shafts, and it blends in well on any green felt......

The big deal is as the story goes, Tweeten Fibre Company who make Master Brand Pool Chalk, after 9/11/2001 put a American Flag on the Chalk as a PATRIOTIC THING.

According to my source at Tweeten Fibre Company the pre 9/11/2001, and the post 9/11/2001 Chalk is the SAME FORMULA, and the Chalk is still being manufactured with FLAG, and some without FLAG today.

Watch the streams and notice how many top pros use a chalk other than Masters Regular. I'd say maybe 1 in 20 and most that use other than Masters are sponsored buy the chalk their using. If it made a difference ALL pros would be using the $25 chalk. Johnnyt
