I assumed that I would have to prepare the tip on my brand new cue, but it appears to be roughed up, and I assume it is shaped properly by the manufacturer (McDermott).
So when is a cue cube needed? Is it just for older tips that have become shiny and/or flattened over time? And how, precisely, is it used? Shaper first, or Scuffer? Do you grind it slightly, or just very lightly go over it? 2 seconds with regular pressure or 5-7 seconds with very light pressure?
Can you tell I'm totally obsessed with the care and feeding of my new baby?
