What is the Supposed Phenomena of Center to Edge Aiming?

Then get him to post the money. Simple really. 20k isn't that much money these days. There are people in STL and every city and town in the USA who bet more that on a daily basis. If Lou really has people ready to bet then post the money.

I don't know how it gets any simpler than that.
Did I miss something,,

Told John earlier today, over in the Aiming Forum, he could bet $20K in STL.

Lou Figueroa
would that cover it?

Something that makes me laugh...
Are we people or robots? The ones who think (apparently) that once you master a system, whatever one it is, they will be invincible, can't miss...fountain of youth stuff.

Thing is, you don't see the truly gifted players beating their heads on the wall over systems. Why isn't that?

Well, I don't think there is any substitute for raw talent. look at some of these kids now...13, 14 year old Taiwanese and Chinese kids...wow..you think for a second they are wasting time thinking about anyone's system?
You or I can't beat them. Why not? Because you don't understand someone's system well enough?
Maybe is someone cones up with the *perfect* explanation for every possible combination of possible outcomes and shot angles YOU could then beat them??

Nope. You simply don't have enough talent. Me either. How do you propose teaching talent?

Stan is doing all he can to help a lot of people understand what he believes works. It wouldn't matter if it was anyone else, there will be people picking at them. I don't know why. Jealousy maybe? I don't know.

My last suggestion is that maybe English and Stan settle their debate on the table. Shoot out...sort of....duel to the death( or whatever ).

English, you that talented?

This goes back to the nature/nurture debate. Can some people just aim/throw better than others? Of course. Tell a group of kindergartners to throw rocks at a target and it will be clear which ones are more natural at it.

But take the ones who aren't naturals and teach them some technique and I bet they will outscore the naturals quickly.

What those Taiwanese teenagers have is hundreds of hours of DEEP practice. The Chinese women's national team trained in Xiamen and they had girls 12-15 training a single shot for hours a day.

Every time someone says that so and so is a natural I want to ask how many hours so and so has been training. The fact is that most of the time by a LARGE margin those who are the very top of their field have twice as many hours of training in as those on the next level down. Studies have found this to be true in field after field.

So no we are not robots. But we certainly benefit from learning good techniques and habits. Why do we brush our teeth each day? Because we learned that taking care of our teeth in a certain way means we will have good use of them for just about as long as we live. We don't question it we just do it and if a better way came along we would start doing it that way.

Just suppose that CTE is truly great. Leave all the arguing for a moment and consider an alternative reality. Let's imagine that some great player develop this method and all the great players adopted it and because of that all the next generation adopted it as well. The end result of that would be a wave of players who were more accurate than the generation before them. Running 8 packs would be common instead of rare. Of course not everyone would train diligently but the mere fact that a reliable system was part of the fabric of learning how to play pool would raise the average skill level by a lot in my opinion.

People would still find their own style. But they would simply be aiming better.

And the nature/nurture debate would continue but the whole class of players would be at a higher level thanks to accurate and objective ways to aim IMO.

Yep, you missed where I told him to post it and THEN we can set a date to play in STL.

I am not going to just drive to STL without the money posted.
