I have a cue that originally came with a lizard print wrap. The wrap that was on it was very thick probably about .050. So is this uncommon?

By today's standards it is. That's why I and others have worked on making available an assortment of cue leather blanks that are precision split to the approximate thickness of linen. I don't like the idea of cutting deeply into the cue to install a wrap.

I definitely agree about using leather the same thickness of linen grove because now i am having to have the groove built up and recut to install the linen wrap i want on it.
