as the title states, interested in knowing what the joint material used on this cue is... so if anyone can tell me about it I would be highly appreciative. Thanks in advance! -Josh

Sorry, missed that (though I don't know how). Second post may be correct. Is there any grain or weave to that material at all? Second thought may be cue ball phenolic, yellowed with age.

there is no grain to speak of, but there is a bit of iridescent "swirl" type pattern in some areas that may or may not be in the finish over the joint.. I will try to get a good picture of it tonight, but might be this weekend before I can get good sunlight for a picture. Thanks for your time! -Josh

took a bit longer than I had hoped to get a picture that showed the pattern I mentioned. Anyways, the consensus seems to be that it is paper based phenolic... Thanks for everyone's help!

The joint rings are Ryertek!! It is very close to phenolic. The joint itself I would guess to be made of a old pool ball. Looks like a guys cue around here that used a old snooker ball.
