I am having a cue built. This is the type of buttcap I am wanting...what is it called? Thanks for your help in advance....and sorry, this may me in wrong forum.

Is this Melamine?

Also.....what is the swirly colored ferruls i am seeing now days? And, could this brown phenolic be used as a ferrule material..or would u not suggest that?

Its the laminate wood ferrule of the new OB-1 low deflection shafts. The brown phenolic is used in some break/jump ferrules. You most likely wouldn't use it on a playing cue ferrule.
