What is up with this mid-extension fad.

Some are asking for 4" extension now.
Kinda scary if the joint screw is short like on Schuler's.

Very important to have tight spec's but on Schulers. Not only is the screw approximately .302x14 and short. It's also hollow.

I have the pilot tight on the wall.
.440 by. 250 deep.
The minor of the screw is not even. 250.
Thanks for the heads up.

Should be ok. Thier pilot is around .300. I'm sending you .298x14 and Mali's matching quick release insert today.

Schuler has been offering the mid-cue extension (using their Schuler joint) for more years (decades?) than Balance Rite. They offer them in different lengths.

Jacoby and Noel Mendoza make them.

So. Your saying Joey should turn down the job?

It sounded like he was hesitant when he said, "Kinda scary if the joint screw is short like on Schuler's." You bet your ass a cuemaker should turn down a job if he isn't 100% sure. That was specific to Schuler Cues.

I'm sure you would agree on many other cue building concerns, fixes, and work.

I turned down the length.
Owner agreed to 3".
I use a longer screw. Sticking out .750 instead of. 200.
It actually fits the stock insert in the shaft now .

Your half right. On Schulers, I would actually make the correct insert at .302x14 and use a standard 5/16x14 to go into the shaft because that's what size is used on the shaft insert. I personally like the correct size without the extra wiggle.
