What is your favorite cue?

well, I like Schon, always have.... and there was one Joss, sneaky pete, with JOSS inlayed in the forearm, played better than any Joss I have ever owned... My favorite is Schon, why? because they play good... and to me playability is everything, Schon cues also look good, and to me thats a bonus..

Evening all...new person here. Been going back and forth between my sneaky petes, Steve Klein and Bob Frey. If one's not working for some reason I just switch to the other :)

I like my bob griffin (madison bob) cue, think my dzuricky (dzcues.com) sneaky is a wonderful hitting cue, and I've always liked scruggs, schons, and joss cues.

those are the cues I'd buy again

if I could find one I'd also buy a d-17 mcdermott again. Had to be my all time favorite cue, had two shafts 13 mm each, hit like a dream. Did a silly trade for a porper cue that was probably stolen to begin with. (didn't know that part until after I got rid of it...hated how it hit).

Southwest, plain and simple. There's an 8 year wait list for a reason and they lived up to their rep for me after I picked one up this summer.

I like my Cognoscenti, and I hit some with my friend's Samsara, great cue too.

Any forward balanced cue with a stainless steel joint.
I've had two Schons and two Helmstetters that fit the bill nicely. Now it looks like Skip Weston will be receiving a down payment shortly. Was a toss up between Skip and Andy Gilbert.

Man, it must really suck to be you ;)

If you ever get sick of the Boti just toss it my way. I promise to give it a good home.

Do I break out the sneaky pete or wow them with my Players cue. I have a cuetech too but it's far too valuable to take out with me :D

I thought you were going with Gilbert. Why the switch? PM if you don't want the reason to seem like a flame toward Andy.

Bryan's Shop

I was at brian's shop yesterday and he's working on a cue that has a lightly colored cocobolo forearm with lacewood points that i'm sure will turn out sweet.

How does his new shop look? From the pics on his web site looks real nice.
His cues are sweet all around, could not be happier with it. Being in Ohio not to many people have heard of him hopefully giving him some good exposure out this way. Every tournament i go to someone asks about it. From Cincinatti to Detroit

I had a decent cue collection for a while. Then I decided to sell most and put the money towards buying into Disney Timeshare for my kids. Anyways, with 15 high end cues I let my best friend test drive them. My friend plays pretty good (he has run 4 legitimate/no cosmo racks on a bar box playing 9ball before) but knows very little about about custom cues. So I laid out these cues which included
-my current playing cue a Gus Szamboti
-two Benders
-hoppe conversion scruggs
-2 Southwests
-omega DPK
-2 Searings
-late 60's Joss
-2 Joss Wests
-Mottey
-Pete Ohman sneaky pete
-Coker

We played a whole weekend that my wife took the kids upstate to visit her Mom. At the end of the weekend I asked him which one he liked best.

His conclusion? "Yknow, I hate to tell you this, but I really like this plain jane cue the best (the four point no ivory, no inlaid G. Szamboti)." He was worried I would be all upset that he didnt like my fancy looking cues the best. I just laughed. So when people ask me how my cue hits, sometimes I tell them about how my cue passed my own version of the Taster's Choice Blind test.

Are your omega/dpks for sale?? Email me at erik@erikleecues.com if they are..

Sorry, sold long ago. The Omega DPK I had was actually not so great. Put it this way, Marty Herman sold it to me through Ebay. It was one of the first to go when I decided to sell.
