What is your HIGH RUN?

By game.

My high run is:
-5 racks of 9 ball and
-3 racks of 8 ball.

NOT PLAYING THE GHOST.

I've done 3-4 racks of 9 ball countless times. And ran sets to the hill out if you count snookering the opponent and then continuing the run. But let's just stick to straight break and runs. And PLEASE GIVE US THE ACTUAL NUMBER. Unfortunately I realize I'm giving my actual high run and most will add 50% lol.

9 ball: 4 racks vs real opponent, 6 in practice
10 ball: 3 in practice
8 ball: 2 or 3, don't remember

I play 9-ball much more than the other two, by a huge margin. Probably done many thousands of 9-ball racks but only a few hundred of 8-ball and 10-ball.

I only have recollection of break and win in 9 ball. I recall twice 17 games with opponents resignations ending the runs. Once I had 13 and the bar closing ended that run. All 3 were money games at 10 or 20 dollars a rack. The money is the only way I had of counting. Each had at least one lock up safety that kept the win package growing.
8 ball is hard to remember putting racks together. Once in the league championship match I broke and ran 1 broke in the 8 once and ran out twice after dry breaks by my opponents. Shrug 🤷‍♂️

I also play 9 rock much more. Such a fun game.

Your trying to say you broke and ran 17 games of 9 ball? Of all the things that didn't happen, this didn't happen the most.

Break and Win is the only record I maintain. Break and run is a sub set. I can't recall how many racks my opponent sat between kick shots.
My point is that break and win is more important than run. 🤷‍♂️
My personal records are ancient. Today my 9 ball runs are counted in consecutive balls and rarely require both hands to count. 🤷‍♂️

That isn't what this thread is asking at all. Break and run with your opponent staying in the chair is what this is about.
.
I can go to any bar and win as many games as I want and still do occasionally. VERY different conversation.

Okay I have one that I am mostly sure of.
1989 playing for the point at The White Spot in Fife. The big 9 ball bar table tournament. Race to 7 and my opponent (Bobby McDonald) that had defeated Dan Louie was ahead 6-2 and I ran 5 to win the point. In the finals it was one race to 13 with Jim Ward. He put 4 together from the opening break. Locked me up and ran 3 more before I got a shot. I ran 3 or 4 and missed. That's all , Jim finished the set from there. 🤷‍♂️ A second place finish that I am proud of.

One more off topic question. 😉
Is it still a break and run if I make a one nine combination? :scratching head:

Depends what you're talking about. I've had an 11 pack on a valley bar box. But I'm more proud of the 3 pack I have on table 1 at the old bellflower hardtimes and the 3 pack I had playing Max Eberle at Fatboys.

I love telling that last story. I never really played any big tournaments and pretty much never gambled. I went to Eric's place and he ended up getting stuck in LA and told me to go ahead and go in and play some pool.

So I go in and start playing, and Max was living there at the time.

He walks in and sees me playing and says "oh, are you a friend of Eric's?". I said yeah and he asked if I wanted to play him some.

I said sure and he told me to go ahead and break. I started out with a 3 pack and he cocks his head to the side with a quizzical expression on his face and asks me "How do you know Eric?".

LOL
