I am reading quite often the past few months most of the new posts.I have seen many different opinion from mant different characters..So let's introduce ourselves...Which is your level in 3c? My ordinery set is 15 points in 24-28 inn. What is yours?

In the local tournaments in my part of America I would be a C meaning below .5 average. For a long time in my carom playing I was below .1 , but I am sure I play above .1 now, at least on my good days:thumbup:

Here in Japan our handicap is based on your average in 25 inning games. Right now my average is 0.377~~ By the standards over here I am a 14. I need to make 14 pts within 25 innings to win. I'm guessing it's C class.

I'm also a C player. I think the highest finish for a 25 point game I had was about a .600. my average is going up drastically over the past few months, but still in the .375 range

Usually I spend 30 to 40 innings to make 25 points, so I guess my average is around 0.600 to 0.700, my best performance was 25 in 11 innings two years ago, never happened again...I wish one day I could reach 1.000 level...

My average fluctuates, but overall I am 1.000 level. I live (and play) in Turkey. Though, my average hardly feels any good at all. Most players I play with are much better than me in my club (although I have my share of wins) We usually play two to four sets of 15, or "marathon", meaning to 4o pts or more.

I think I am about to buy a carom table to my home soon! If this happens, boy...I will kick ass in the tourneys and imrove my artistique (trick shot) as they don't let us do pique or massé shots...
cant wait for the table..............

:D

Achro is a very reliable store in athens.I have a custom carom cue from there but these days i am in love with my new schuler cue which i bought from N.Polychronopoulos.I am waiting to get better in a year when i will finish my Master diploma in finance. My turkish friend their president(you know who) is a hillarious joke.Watch him as a referee in a match pedro against hugo(great players-respect).He is drinking beers all the time during the game. How can they go any better? The land of 3c? I believe their problem isnt about the rules of a tournament. It is the respect they have for the game.

Hi,
I apologize, I did not get what you meant in reference to "My turkish friend their president(you know who) is a hillarious joke.Watch him as a referee in a match pedro against hugo(great players-respect)...The land of 3c? I believe their problem isnt about the rules of a tournament. It is the respect they have for the game"

Could you elaborate?

You can watch in the livestream thread in this section the referee mr Dieckman the cuemaker.Watch the game (pedro vs hugo) and you will understand.Mr Diekman is the president of USBA....Its a general comment about this forum

Oh! I understand now! I look forward to watching that lol.
Mr. Dieckman is funny. Saw him at a youtube vid few days back. He is totally old school Vietnam era hero! He was totally making a pass on the interviewer in the vid
Nonetheless, I respect him as a cuemaker.

By the way, do you have pics of the Schuler cue from Polychronopoulos?
I would love to see the pics of that cue!

Very Nice! Thanks for the pic!

May I ask, was this the personal cue used by Polychronopoulos? Do you know the specs? Would you know if that is what schuler calls "super constant" shaft?

I like Kasidikostas among Greek players! He is not as technical as Caudron, Jaspers, Saygıner etc, But he can make very high runs with position shots, like very quickly! :shocked2:

i dont know many specs about this cue.Nikos is a friend of mine and i play in his billiard club in Athens. The only thing i know for sure this cue is one of a kind, designed from 3 different schuler models. He ordered it for a customer but he broke his hand so he changed his mind. The price was friendly for me.750 euros.I will ask Nikos about some specs and i will right back. For me it is one of the most beautiful carom cues ever seen.
Greetings from Athens

oh and about Kasidokostas and the other players.Nikos-Tasdemir-kasidokostas and a few others are the next generation. They are much much younger then semih(my favourite),caudron, blomdahl etc.The only problem i believe we have is that the north europeans are more cold blooded, machines lets say then we are.

:D Very true. North Europeans play like a bionic man when they play LOL

Yes, players like Kasidokostas, Taşdemir and another favorite of mine, Murat Naci Coklu represent the new generation among top 3C pros. Maybe we can add Sanchez to this list as well. (By the way, I am thinking of buying an Adam Dani Sanchez DS-1. Have you ever seen one?)

(Also, you can always let me know if there are nice cues for sale from around your friends! I am always looking for nice 3 cushion cues.)

Players like Jaspers, Blomdahl, Caudron, Semih, Zanetti..they are old generation now, as you mentioned. At my billiard club in Ankara, there are pics of these older generation players taken at a tournament from 1992, I believe. It is funny to see same Blomdahls, Caudrons, Ceulemans, Zanettis etc., with much younger faces. They were playing top level 3 cushion back then..and now! They keep going at same level, non-stop. :)

By the way, I really believe that, the talent of playing carom games (free, 3 cushion etc) really has to do with "natural talent". Semih became the champion in the country after the very first year he learned how to play! I know a local player. Extremely talented hands in free game (he can run 500 points) and extremely sensitive hands in 3C as well. I had a talk with him, and he explained, talent is something you have it or not. Practice helps big time, but when such talent combines with practice...they become the very top level players like Kasidokostas or Semih.
