I'm going to recover my tables, which now have 860 on them. I've basically got a bunch of bangers and 860 doesn't last long enough with bangers. What kind of cloth would you recommend that is tougher but still a little on the speedy side?

Thanks for any replies.

No cloth is banger-proof.
What is your definition of "long enough"?

Good & tough

Championship Tour Edition 3030 plays great and holds up under tough conditions, Lower price but still offers durability and playability... Championship Valley Ultra (backed and teflon treated) jmho.

You've asked the same question in other sections as well. What kind of tables are you looking to install the cloth on? What kind of time frame are you wanting to get out of the cloth? 95% of the people playing pool are bangers and pay the bills at any location, so what do you mean by bangers?

We can't give advice to your question if we don't know what you're trying to accomplish. If you're looking for a specific answer as to a better cloth than Simonis, there is no better cloth made than Simonis, it IS at the top of the list, so what exactly are you looking for?

In essence I gave him a similar reply back on Monday.
Curious why some start a thread and then don't reply when asked specifics.

I know Simonis is the best cloth and plan to keep on my action table. I'm looking for something which will last for a year without getting completely dinged up. Thanks for your reply.

believe it or not, i would suggest the brunswick cent. cloth. i have put it on a several tables and it seems to work out pretty good. i agree there is nothing better then simonis though.

anyone else have an opinion on the cent. cloth

Centennial is Tour Edition with teflon.
Tour and Simonis are both top choices.
For longer useable life Simonis 300

Tour Ed is typically thought to be more durable due to its heavier weight.
Considering the wool content (Tour Ed 70% - Simonis 90%) one would conclude that Simonis is more durable.
Lab results also gave Velocity Pro a favorable comparison with Tour Ed and Simonis however lab results can be skewed
towards specific performance factors. Velocity Pro Lab Results Here

I'd say when you know you have regular bangers then consider putting a less expensive napped cloth on a few tables
just for those folks or use Simonis 300 which can be flipped to extend its life.

You can't go wrong with either Simonis or Tour Edition. But, for what it's worth, a number of the rooms in Florida that I do the work for have started using Tour Edition where they always used Simonis in the past.

Also, several of the Pros who played on the IPT had me remove the IPT cloth from their personal tables (due to the current state of the IPT) and install Tour Edition. Before the IPT they had used Simonis, but they like the way the Tour Edition plays. They noted that the Tour Ed. plays slightly faster than Sim. 860 and seems to play better "out of the gate" (the Tour Ed. had less skid or slide to allow for when newly installed).

Hope this helps.
Mike
