To me it looks like the glue and tip just separated but I just want to make sure so I came here!

The closest cue repair guy is 50 min drive so hes tough to get in touch with...

Anyway heres a photo..

What happened? Well I went to grab the cue and my depth perception was a bit off so instead of wrapping my hand around it I hit it with my finger tips and knocked it over and it smacked the ground and the tip flew off...

Knocking a cue over and having the shaft slap the floor, esp a hardwood, tile,or concrete floor is a pretty reliable way to make the tip come off. Even carpet can do it.

I warranty my tip installs for LIFE,with the following 2 exceptions.

The cue gets left in the customer's car and gets hot or cold, and yes I can tell the difference VISUALLY.

The cue gets knocked over and slaps the floor, and once again I can TELL if it happened.

Shafts that get knocked over like that and strike a hard surface usually have something else happen that will need attention by someone good at repairs.

Those are small dents that may need to be filled with CA glue or another type of filler because they are caused by VERY small rocks or gravel-like stuff that is nearly impossible to see, until you wipe your hand across the same floor.

I've had shafts come to me that felt like it had table salt or sand pounded into it,and one that made my bridge hand bleed.

Even the best tip installers can have this happen when the shaft meets the floor. Tommy D.

Lmao. May be able to get the tip repaired for less...
