What makes a good case?

case

i own about 7 cases and for the money , porper is the best. i have had 1 that i used for about 10 years and it's still in great shape and it's vynil. i have a guys name on an e bay store that was cheapest and great to deal with. if you need info contact me. i also have a couple instrokes i will be getting rid of . let me know and porper is the way to go.

I don't think they're being made by the same people, so my answer to your question is No. I'm aware that Instroke has gone through different ownerships in the last couple of years, but I noticed no difference in the build quality...and I inspected the cases inside and out, both my 2002 Premier case, my 2004 Predator (my favorite case design/build-wise), and my 2006 buffalo.

I have also seen plenty of Vincitore cases, and imo they suck.

As for Porper, they're an alright case...but I would never trust my cues to a foam-based interior, which is what Porpers use. The joint-down only config is annoying as well.

Instroke uses thick PVC for their tubes, lined with a moisture-wicking material with just enough padding for a snug fit. Butts can go in joint up or down, and in the case of the Predator cases, the tubes are then surrounded by another PVC oval.

No other case comes close to an Instroke in terms of protecting your cues. That might not be important to you but it is to me and imo it's the most important function of a case.

I have 3 year old all leather Vincitore...

I purchased on Ebay for arund $90 and it still looks graet and is holding up well! I am very pleased with it!:)
 
Everything Buddha said. Vincitore case interior construction is inferior to instroke. Porpers use foam, and it's okay, but not as tough as a tube case. Instrokes have great protection and Predator cases are my favorite cases. Same interior as instrokes, better shoulder strap, small pocket and lighter than instroke's equivalent cases.

Thanks for all the input and great info. I decided to take Buddah's advice and get the Instroke. The main purpose for me was to protect my cue investment and it seems the Instroke was the case for the job. Thanks again guys(gals?) :D
 
That foam based interior in the porpers is at least as tough as the plastic (pvc or abs) tubes in other cases, you can trust it.
