what makes the tables so fast in vegas?

Low humidity would speed things up a bit. Air condtioning should neutralize any differences you see in ball speed.

I remember a time while playing at the Cue Club in Las Vegas where the players could actually sense a difference in ball speed when the front door was propped open. Considering how big the room is, I thought that was amazing.

A/C has very very little effect on humidity, cold is not wet air. Vegas is dry all the time, cold or hot.:smile:

Dry=fast

heres what the man:cool: had to say from his facebook page...thanks john!

"We had Championship Mercury Ultra Cloth on the Valley tables. It's fast playing cloth and it's relatively inexpensive."

"I read the thread. If they're referring to the VNEA tournament, I have an answer for you. We recovered about 60 tables with brand new cloth just a couple days before the tournament started. When we put new cloth on them, we pull them very tight so they don't wrinkle due to humidity or any other reasons, so they will play much faster at this event because of the newly tightly stretched cloth. As the tables are loaded and moved to other locations (some very humid locations), they tend to loosen up and get a little slower. I personally did all 8 tables in the finals arena, and they were stretched very tight, so I know they played very fast. Plus it was nice and air conditioned in there, so there was no humidity or anything to slow them down. I hope this answers your question, and feel free to "cut and paste" my answer on the thread. John Stich"
