What MD really did....In London after MCup

How about a triple-Jack for that same $4.75? :p

You did say you were visiting up here this fall, right?

Yep, will be there the 3rd to the 6th of October, driving up from NYC on the 3rd and flying out of Boston on the afternoon of the 6th. I think we'll try to hit Acadia one of those days and swing up to Bangor then. Otherwise it's about a two hour drive by itself iirc.

I just did a little Googling. It technically meets the requirements to be called a bourbon. The company doesn't market it as a bourbon. I don't think Kentucky has anything to do with it. I'm using my phone, copy and paste isn't easy, so if you are curious, google will tell you.

I'm not sure when I got the impression that it was a "real" bourbon, probably because it was in the bourbon section at the liquor store.

It ain't Scotch. :p

Ah, this thread now warms the cockles of my heart. You are correct that Bourbon can be made anywhere, though was made popular in Kentucky, specifically Bourbon County, just 25 minutes away from my humble domicile. In the real good old days, folks would look for the Bourbon County stamp on the barrel in order to gain assurance of top quality.

Now, for what really matters. My current bourbon preferences in order by rank:

1. Woodford Reserve - best value for the buck, and that is the best measure that this accountant can think of.

2. Early Times. Yes, you heard me right - E.T. You may wish to phone home after this, but it reminds me of old times with buds from way back. Hell, one of my best bud's 92 year old grandmother still has her daily libation each afternoon at 3:30 - and E.T. is it!

3. Wild Turkey, aka, The Kicken Chicken. Broke my maiden on this one. Can't argue with 101!

4. Blanton's. God dam*&t, if you've got the $, it's real damn smooth.

Cheers all...
