Schon and Joss are the two biggies.

Jacoby offers it but I don't consider them production.

Mezz United joint is basically 5/16x14 as well.

I love SS joint with 5/16x14 pin, it's my favorite.

You don't consider Jacoby production cues but Joss is? That I don't get.

Maybe I'm wrong but most Joss cues I see are standard models purchased from dealers. I know they do custom cues, as does Schon. Jacoby has some catalog models but you rarely see them. They build a bunch of one off cues, a bunch of custom, and some standard models. Splitting hairs maybe. Jacoby is local to me so I've been to their shop a few times and seen all the custom stuff they do and don't have that experience with Joss so that very well could be coloring my opinion. I think both make great cues though along with Schon!

I don't know that you are wrong or right.

Personally, I see the two companies as very similar.

Go to their web sites and you see their production cues and you'll see customs. You will also see they both offer a high performance shaft and a cue butt extension. They also have each developed break cues.

Both makers are very well respected with Janes having the edge on years making cues, but he is older and his eyes are failing.

To me, they are very similar. I think that both are excellent sources for both production and custom cues.

I actually see Schon as more of a production cue company then either Joss or Jacoby.

But they all are very capable custom cue makers.
