What set of balls do you recommend to get?

Is that a chip at 1 o'clock?
It looks good, the warm white aka yellowish don't brother me, I don't like 5000K day-light hospital white anyway 😁
No chip. My issue is the 3 different purple hues. The cream color is very similar to the Aramith duramith. I don't mind it either. That is a dynosphere bronze set.

PLEASE EXPLAIN WHY EVERYONE IS RECOMMENDING Centennials 😳?
He's got a Brunswick table. Everything I've read says that Aramith makes the Brunswick Centennial ball set. Personally, I own Aramith Tournaments that I bought for $315 shipped brand new, still wrapped in cellophane.

lol. yea. but that stripe was the only one with this "feature" all the other stripes had a consitent uniform color.
Oh Hell! That makes it a collectable. You know like the coins where a strange one becomes Ultra Valuable. 😉

My Bronze set looks and plays pretty good. The CB seems to squirt/swereve more than I like, but it’s about the same as an Aramith Premier CB.

Here you go….

On eBay right now…..new Centennial set for $285 or best offer…..offer $286 and smile.
Or spend a lot more for Dynasphere……but why. Several sets of new Centennials on
eBay and one like new set…..Just get a set of Centennials and never be disappointed.
You won’t see better deals right now but the marketplace always changes, often daily.

You asked why so many people recommend Brunswick Centennials made by Saluc.
The design (appearance) is the classiest looking design using the best colors & tone.

Saluc doesn’t make any pool ball sets with better, tighter tolerances than Centennials.
The weights and dimensions are extremely exact and equally comparable with Raschig.

So if consistency, quality and appearance are important characteristics you’d like to have
in a pool ball set, Brunswick Centennial sets are at the top rung of the ladder above others.

I could buy any pool ball set made but I chose Centennials and own multiple sets. Now it
goes without saying everyone buys what they like and want to spend so you get to choose.

The old silver Dynasphere sets are currently on sale on Kozoom if anyone is wanting a cheap set of balls. Says in the description there is a yellowed ball but everything looks fine in the photos.

I picked up a set of Centennials a few years ago for $100 on local craigslist. Got some cleaning stuff from the local store and it's been these sets for me since. Before splurging, check out your local listings on both facebook and craigslist because you never know.

Since we are on the subject of pool balls, I remember seeing a set on this site that I'm sure were made by Olhausen and they looked as beautiful as the Centennial set. Does anyone know if I'm imagining this or if that set actually exists? And if it does exist, why does it seem they are impossible to find?
They exist, here's mine. As Garczar said, made in Korea by Cosmos Billiards. Kosmos also made the Predator Arcos I prototypes that never went into production. I own a set of those pictured below as well.

This is not true. The Aramith Tournament set and the Aramith Black set are Saluc's top of the line sets that use their Duramith resin technology and are held to tighter standards. The Centennials are Aramith Super Pros with a different design. I know you are a Centennial fan (I am too) but they are not the best balls made with the tightest tolerances as evidences by my ball weight thread. Best looking? Maybe.

The SAP resin line was their top ball for quite a while and is still used. The T's are 'supposed' to stay a lil cleaner and skid less. Truth?? Who knows. If you had a set of SAP's on one table and T's on another i SERIOUSLY doubt anyone could tell the difference in how they play. There's a guy that brings his own Aramith Premiums into the hall and those look/play as good as any ball out there. People get WAAAY too caught up in minutia like this.

Agree.

My belief is the basic general premise is the more expensive the set, the more hits they can take and continue to roll true in the long term.

@rexus31 is right about phenolic resin technology and tolerances. I think the Tournament set looks nice as well, mixed feedback on the Black set. personally I have always loved the Centennial design, but man they are super expensive now. Since I had a set in stock, i just grabbed the Predator Arcos set, haven't played much, so I can't comment on how they hold up to the new Aramith sets. Dynaspheres seems to change their designs all the time and some strange colour choices, but they are good quality ballsets in my experience.

The Predator Arcos II set is made with the same resin as Centennials.

What I know by science is I weighed the balls in a new unplayed set I own. 16 balls and the largest variance using my Ohaus Triple Beam consistently weighed the same or else <1/2 gram less. If you’re right, than obviously I’m not. It’s that simple.

The Predator Arcos set is definitely not one I want to play with, let alone buy. I’d rather get even Aramith Premier.
