What size holes are in table light parabolic louvers? (Squares)

I am building my own table light and I'm going for a Littman/Diamond style light with LED panels and Parabolic Louvers. I was wondering if anyone knows what size squares are in the louvers of those lights? Thanks.

You might consider just going to Home Depot and buying their 2x4 plastic sq louvered panels. Inexpensive, no glare, and they work fantastic. Used them when I built my 2x6 light with 3 2x2 led panels.

Think the op is asking about the size of the cell openings. Those i've seen in use looked to be 1/2-5/8".

If you’re talking about the egg crate under a Diamond light mine are real close to 5/8 ID might be 9/16 .. real close but just a hair under 5/8

Yes thats what Im looking for. I assumed it was probably parabolic and not egg crate for the fact that egg crate would let the light spread out the side to the walls a little bit more versus parabolic would concentrate more on the table. I think diamonds newest version has egg crate or at least a flat color to it versus parabolic usually has a silver mirror finish

I thought the home Depot stuff was egg crate and not parabolic but maybe I'm wrong. Do you have a picture of what yours looks like with the light on the table at night?

The light I measured is approx 15 years old. It might be a metric size but I don’t have a mic just a ruler. Mine is a plastic silver mirror finish

Yes, not close up. There may be more spreading of light, but honestly I couldn't say for sure. I do know there is no noticeable glare and my light is up there. In the picture, even though the bricks on the side wall looks lit up, it's from the overhead lights, not the pool table light. I can't tell you what way is better, but the plastic louvers worked great for me.

I used these. They have 5/8" openings. I'm not sure why they only show a 5 pack as I was able to just buy two.

FWIW, I tried the parabolic louvers and while they focused the light directly on the table, the brightness was not substantial enough for my to justify the added expense so I returned them.

Yeah it was your post that made me kind of want the Parabolic ones. I dont have much cool stuff in my room and on the walls compared to you so I like the idea of keeping the light more focused on the table more. I found 2 of the parabolic for $130 which is a lot more than egg crate. I think the home depot ones are like 30 a piece. BTW I noticed you say 20k lumens is optimal, is that based on anything in particular or just your preference? I found some panels that will get me to 17600. Oh and what is the red bmx cruiser you got in that photo?

I think 20K Lumens is optimal for pool but you may have good results with 17,600.

I've got 2 BMX Cruisers: 26" Race Inc and a 26" True Torch JMC Tribute.
