Think the op is asking about the size of the cell openings. Those i've seen in use looked to be 1/2-5/8".You might consider just going to Home Depot and buying their 2x4 plastic sq louvered panels. Inexpensive, no glare, and they work fantastic. Used them when I built my 2x6 light with 3 2x2 led panels.
Yes thats what Im looking for. I assumed it was probably parabolic and not egg crate for the fact that egg crate would let the light spread out the side to the walls a little bit more versus parabolic would concentrate more on the table. I think diamonds newest version has egg crate or at least a flat color to it versus parabolic usually has a silver mirror finishIf you’re talking about the egg crate under a Diamond light mine are real close to 5/8 ID might be 9/16 .. real close but just a hair under 5/8
I thought the home Depot stuff was egg crate and not parabolic but maybe I'm wrong. Do you have a picture of what yours looks like with the light on the table at night? You might consider just going to Home Depot and buying their 2x4 plastic sq louvered panels. The light I measured is approx 15 years old. It might be a metric size but I don’t have a mic just a ruler. Mine is a plastic silver mirror finishYes thats what Im looking for. That describes lenses - are there lenses in the things being discussed?https://www.fluorolite.com/prismatic-vs-parabolic/ what they're called. i'm sure you'll dispute every word and then explain it for us simpletons.
I read louvers in the above link (post13) on parabolic, which I thought was the very subject of this thread. That describes lenses - are there lenses in the things being discussed?

Yeah it was your post that made me kind of want the Parabolic ones. I dont have much cool stuff in my room and on the walls compared to you so I like the idea of keeping the light more focused on the table more. I found 2 of the parabolic for $130 which is a lot more than egg crate. I think the home depot ones are like 30 a piece. BTW I noticed you say 20k lumens is optimal, is that based on anything in particular or just your preference? I found some panels that will get me to 17600. Oh and what is the red bmx cruiser you got in that photo?I used these. They have 5/8" openings. I'm not sure why they only show a 5 pack as I was able to just buy two.

FWIW, I tried the parabolic louvers and while they focused the light directly on the table, the brightness was not substantial enough for my to justify the added expense so I returned them.
Lighting: Parabolic Louvers vs. Egg Crate
This topic came up in another thread and I thought it may warrant its own discussion for those that are interested. The older I get (currently 52) the more important good table lighting is. As some of you may know, I've built a couple custom lights. One for my 1950's AMF (similar to an...forums.azbilliards.com

My understanding is that eggcrate has straight walls and Parabolic has this shape. Add a mirror finish on it and it's a lensThat describes lenses - are there lenses in the things being discussed?
