What size shaft do you play with?

well for 8 years....11.811 (measured right now) mm my own LD design....gave everything else the "short shaft" lol. Old old solid maple.
shes in the E.R.... and Dr. Strange is knee deep
but back in action from 2009 is the hoppe style butterfly with i dont even remember...hold on calipur time....
495 thousanths....12.57mm
its ferrule is a micharta looking cant remember what i had eddie put on it whnen i was in tulsa and caught a crack in my ferrule....its 15.6 long....the butterfly is ivory....more specifically cue ball ivory. its 50 thousandths over 1" long...so 1.050'
the two cues have similar stiffness...like the spine of the shaft....but the former daily has much less deflection. and obviously just by that simple data on the shaft there are much diff b/t the two cues/shafts.
One thing thouh. I keep a short shoulder tip on the butterfly, the old daily was always a med height presed triangle, edie had gabe and i try the kamui med clear when he did my ferrule. I liked em, but no better than my triangle. But no complaints about their products performance at all.
Oh and by the way....if anyone ever wonders if they are in Tulsa and catch themselvs in Magoos...ive known eddie farris for long time..about ten years running and hes a good cue maker. i told him...eddie i love ya, but if you mark my shaft changing that ferrule "it will not turn out pretty" lol...i said i know a good machinest and cue maker can do it without...so if you can do it, do it. if not ill do it when i get home from my trip....NO WORRIES KEEB....
about an hour later....i wasn't surprised with his work. Wonderful job. Perfect. I really can not say enough about something so dam simple....yet, there are not all that many cuemakers and repair guys who can accomplish such, to such a degree.
That cue to me is like one of fatboys szams and maybe then some and it wouldnt just be in any bums hands thats for sure....yea he would agree i'm sure...where ya been old friend?
i'm more adjusting to the lighter weight of the new cue than I am.....mostly i think because I've been playing a little kiddy pool on the bar boxes
and you just look at a ball an it starts rolling lol.
still run out with it just fine. unless i'm being a jerk off and get all on the edge of the ball for no good reason at all....it doesn't effect me.
just days after the daily was broke. i controlled my self and just beat arse in smooth yet gentle fashion.....cant lie that i was actually shocked about it during...like i noticed. Which bothered me too....like telling a pitcher its the bottom of the 9th and there are no hits or errors....figured i'd jar myself having such thoughts....
the old daily was on 18.03 its got a few milli grams missing now lol....the butterfly is 17 something i forget...but i always thought about making it a cream white leather....look like it came outa 1923 to put a whoopin on someone all classy like lol
NOPE...end of the day....i just did my job. Who knew....it worked with a diff piece of wood?
