What the biggest spot you've given and still outran?

Big spot

I'm sure this has been discussed before, but oh well...

There wasn't anyone in my place to gamble with last night, so I had to talk the guy I was playing into doing it. I already know he doesn't gamble, but I just like playing for something, anything, when I play (keeps me interested). I knew I had to come strong with a proposition to get him to agree, so I offered and he accepted a 6-3 race and 4-1 on the money.
The guys probably about a 5 or so in APA, and by no means am I a pro or even shortstop speed, but I still outran it and won 6-1... I thought the spot was pretty fair, but I guess it still wasn't..

What's your biggest spot you've outran....?

I once gave an aspiring young player 45 in a race to 50 of 14-1. I won 50-44!

In 9 ball I gave Pinky 3 shots to my one "for favors". She didn't outrun the nuts. :grin-square: The best bet of my life. There was no sharking involved. ;)

But sir you did shark her. 3 shots the one the poor thing was exhausted. That was an old golf hustle way back when offer 10 balls off the tee and the guy couldn't raise his arms after five holes.

I have tried to make fair games with far weaker players on many occasions, so I've given out some big spots. As far as ones I've actually had to outrun, I'd say it was giving the last 4 to some B players and the last 3/4 to a handful of A players. I probably lost at least half of those matches, though - it was usually just an attempt to promote action or get myself into stroke. I have given out the last 4/last 5 countless times, and I have spotted every ball (1-9) when I was getting the break and the first shot. I've also shot with broom handles, banked every ball, kicked every ball, shot my balls in order in 8-ball, played the 10-ball ghost without BIH, etc. Just the general stupid stuff people do when they think they're getting good. :o

I have some friends that like to play pool just for fun, they aren't very good and don't care that they aren't very good. :) When they come over to my house we play 8 ball and the spot is that I have to run my balls in rotation and they play normal 8 ball with "slop counts" added in. It doesn't always even out the games but it usually makes each game last a bit longer.
