"What the hell's that noise?" that's what my fiance said when she comes into my pool room. "I am breaking balls honey" was my response. I just received my 'Varney J/B cue' today, man what a difference it makes to have a cue that is dedicated to just jump and break. Kevin was able to give me more then one choice for ferrule color the, also gave me several choices from the way the cue would look with pictures he had sent. I was a little leary of the tip only because I never heard of "canvas resin". well let me just say this it jumps with the greastest of ease and I yet to not make a ball on the break and thats good because I have trouble control my tip posistion at high speed shots much like the break. So for now I can take some off the speed and consentrate on my tip to cue ball connection. I can't wait till I can break to my desired speed, or should I say "need". It also has the capability to use english if desired, but is as hard if not harder the Phenolic

Thanks Kevin

It sounds like it does have a phenolic tip.

Glad you are enjoying it tjlmbklr. Thats part of the concept with my j/b cue...you can take some horsepower off your break so you can control the cueball, and still make balls on the snap. Looks like no more 3 fouling tjlmbklr either...

I actually haven't owned a J/B cue in about 5 years. I was ambitious and wanted what the pros had and it was a cheapy. I won't say what brand out of respect but it has the nick name "fishing poles" lucky for me it broke and I sent it back for a warranty and Fed Ex destroyed it in return to manufacture and they paid the MSRP value with insurance and I haven't bought a J/B cue until now. But tonight I actually was playing a friend on my table and left myself safe on my last ball before the "8" I had 5-6 inches to jump, and made the jump with out a problem and connected (did not make the shot though)
I was very impressed to be able to do this with little experience.

Here is a couple of pics...feel free to PM me if you'd like to see more.
