Was Silencer right all along when he said that Nick Van den berg was the guy to watch in the WPC last year? He may have been off by a year but it seems nick's game has kicked up a notch to win the 2005 german open, defeating former teammates ralf, mika and marcus along the way. was it just a fluke or does silencer have the last laugh?

In December 2003, The Silencer made the truly remarkable observation that VanDenBerg's stroke and game compared favorably to other participants in the 2003 Moscvoni Cup, and that VanDenBerg might be the world's most promising player. This observation remains among the most incredible I've ever read on this forum. On the whole, it would be fair to say that VanDenBerg's results on the Eurotour have been truly awful since then. This isolated success could be the start of something, but I wonder whether we'll ever see Nick on another European Mosconi Cup team again.

Still, good luck to Nick, and if this is the start of big things, it's good for the sport. As for The Silencer, I wish him well, too.
