What tip are you using on your Tiger shaft?

I have the ultraXLD shaft and I am not a fan of the snipers, feel too soft for me, just dont feel right. What tip do you guys like on your tiger cues?

The Onyx came with my Tiger Pro X. After taking part in Tate's demo program, I already knew I hated that tip. I took it off immediately. I have tried Kamui Black Soft, Kamui Black Medium, Kamui 2 Medium, and Pooldawg8's Milk Duds. I'm currently using the Milk Dud, and I haven't looked back.

I use UltraSkinLayered. I use a medium on one shaft for regulation play and a soft for Bar Boxes.

What would you say are harder the kamui black mediums or the milk duds?

Lee plays with the small tip Tigershaft.I find go with something hard, even a Morri hard plays great and the older Kamui Brown hard really sweet also.Justin has them both and you'll find the shaft will feel a hell of alot better.
I'm with you about the snipers, they feel like a crappy elkmaster and the shaft plays super weird.

Yeah might try a kamui brown hard. And Lee plays with the 12.75 ultra xd. Love this shaft but this sniper is whack Haha.

I would give Pooldawg8's Milk Duds a shot if you're looking for a good firm tip. At $3 a piece, what do you have to lose?

The owner of Jensen gave me a Milk Dud to try when we bumped into each other at Tunica recently.

It looks hard as a rock. Are these really that good on a player cue? As in normal shots, not for breaking.

I know of one extremely good player in my area and he uses a homemade Milk Dud and cuts it down very, very thin. He says he won't use anything else.

I know that tips can be a real "feels good to me" kinda thing, but I'd hate to hit with something that sounds like a phenolic all the time.

Jeff's Milk Duds (pooldawg8) definitely aren't as hard as phenolic. They play firm, with a lot of grab/action, and there is virtually no need to fuss with them. I've only shaped mine twice since I installed it months ago, and haven't needed to do hardly anything to it after it got broken in. I pick it every now and then and I'm good to go.

The Kamui's I used had a tendency to glaze over and lose their dime shape too fast. I'd go through tips way too fast.

Milk Duds and Kamui Black Softs

I have 2 kinds of milk duds on my shafts right now. One type is from AZ'er Dashznt, and its on a shaft from Kevin Varney that I like. The other milk dud is on a 1st gen pred shaft and is from Jeff (pooldawg8). I have kamui black softs on another pair of 1st gen pred shafts. The hardest tip is the milk dud from Dashznt. I can spin the cb really well with that tip but its not a LD shaft. Jeff's milk dud has a softer feel to me, and plays good too. The Kamuis are in between the 2 milkduds. So far, they haven't needed a lot of attention and as all the other kamuis I've played seem to be very consistent. I need to get one of Dashznt's milk duds from Adam Franks on a LD shaft and see how it plays, and then I will know more. I have a feeling that it will be a good combination.
