someone at the pool hall needs a new tip
has worn his down to the ferrule
he says he doesnt remember what brand tip it was but that its a hard tip and was red when new
any ideas what it could be??
Sumo or Super Pro come to mind.
Super pro I would imagine.
Was it one piece or laminated? Was it hard, medium, or soft?

Sumo tips are not red after installing.
Probably a Super Pro or Buffalo Pro.
The OP did not say it was still red. He said the cue owner said it was red when new. Just sayin'
actually what litle of the cue tip that is left on his cue looks black to me
he said it was red when new
Hi Larry,
It sure sounds like a Sumo to me. I have one that is maybe 30 years old if interested. (at least 25 years old)
Dave
If it was hard and not a layered tip it was probably a SUMO tip. They are no longer being made but if you look around you may find someone who has a few.
