My wife just gave me $4K (actualy $3,850) for a an xmas gift (we are not big on dates lol) and told me to go buy a new pool tablle.

I have always wanted to get a Diamond; however, I already have a 9 foot Olhausen. Is it really worth the money just to get a Diamond?

I have struggled with this for a few years. I really want the Diamond with the pro-cut pockets but have trouble justifying spending the money when I already have a nice table.

By the way, I had RKC rework my table so the pockets play great.

What do you think?
 
I picked up my 9' diamond pro used on the bay. I love it. I paid $3,100 and it came with the cover, super aramith pro's, and the dymondwood rails which are awesome by the way. But the answer to your question really depends on you. I knew that I would only be happy with a Diamond, so that was the correct choice for me. It was also the correct choice for my friend, who sold his furniture style brunswick and bought a used Diamond pro.

Perhaps you can sell your Olhausen and then have to pay some modest amount for an upgrade? Seems possible and reasonable to me.

If you are a person that can't look passed that your table says "olhausen". then yeah, sell your table and get a diamond.

Otherwise, with RKC reworking your table(probably diamondizing it to some sorts), I'd keep your current table and buy something else!

What you could do is buy yourself either the Logitech google tv box or the Sony google tv box(this one came with a blue ray player and has a smaller remote which I love!!!) and with the rest of the money, suprise your wife and buy her something special! :thud:

This is all coming from someone that already has a Diamond table though. :shrug:

LOL; that is exactly my struggle. My table is great, especially with RKC working on it, but it is not perfect.. The diamond would be perfect but is it worth it LOL... that is the question...
 
I love my diamond table! You'll be 2-3 balls better when you play on a Brunswick or olhausen after you spend serious time on your diamond.
 
You already have a table. Take your wife on a trip to California and rent a convertable, drive up the coast, eat at great restaurants and spend some time at the beach. You can also play in some pool tournaments along the way! >>>>>>>>>>>>>:thumbup:

There's no such thing as a "Perfect" table. Especially after you play on it for awhile.
 
Still prefer an well setup old Brunswick or new Kim Stell or Clash- they re both for a lifetime.
