What type of wood is this?

The table is a late 1950s or early 1960s Brunswick Sportsman snooker table. There are significant portions of the frame that are exposed, and I want to cover them with the same type of wood as the rails and aprons. I checked with a couple of local woodworkers, but they couldn't be certain. Any help with identifying the wood type is appreciated. Thanks.

I believe they are walnut, same as an Anniversary from the same era

Looks like mahogany to me.

I'd vote for stained maple.
