What wood would you use for your next custom cue?

Here is my regular playing cue...

The handle is Highly figured birds eyed maple which really stands out. The rest is purpleheart. I'm not sure if you would like purpleheart, but it does get darker over time. Purpleheart is well known for playing good too.

I had a solid Purpleheart Sugartree cue for about 2 months..I really screwed up and got rid of it....It has been the best hitting cue I have ever owned...I now have a Bluegrass and I dont like it at all.

My wife has a Purpleheart Sugartree on order from Eric and it should be here in the next month or so....I know she is really excited to get it in her hands!

Thanks for your input!

pretty wood

I saw a cue made with Madagascar Rosewood/Bois De Rose, I believe the two are names for the same wood, and it was GORGEOUS, a deep dark figured purple that would look awesome with tulipwood or one of the instrument grade maples or a cored holly handle

Gene (Crown Cues) has made a few Bois de Rose and Tulipwood cues. They are just gorgeous and usually sell fairly quick. Other woods that look good with Bois de Rose are Myrtle or Tigerwood, because they both have streaks running through them which blend well with the BdR.

How much figure was in the cue I saw and all just really deep purple. Tulipwood would (sounds like I am stutterin'.. :p..lol) ROCK against that .....:D

Thanks Renee...I agree, the Bois de Rose does look very pretty:thumbup:

Heavily figured Desert Ironwood for just the look. The real downside is that it would weigh a ton but the look is just the bomb.

I totally agree....but id hate to have to wear a strap around the cue just to hold it up:D

It sure would be pretty though
