This choice should be automatic.

I thought so as well. Even if you completely miss the 6, you didn't give a dead in ball in hand. Even after banking the 6 in the side, getting shape on the 7 isn't just a simple stop shot...

If you hit the 6 too hard, you've still left the cb on the back rail, still hopefully behind the 9, which will then increase your chances to runout should your opponent foul.
