Whatever happened to Jimmy Mataya "Pretty Boy Floyd", Ewa Laurance's ex?

I don't think I've seen or heard his name mentioned in a very long time. Did he quit pool? I remember reading in "Playing off the Rail" that he had quite a gambling problem.

colorful, he got bared off of espn for being too colorful, same in pool, everybody got sick of his wise guy smart alex stick. He is the kind of prick you see hollywood typecast in all these movies that put pool in the wrong light. We do not need any of these old time hustlers back on the scene.
 
He referred to Ralph Souqet as a Nazi on the DCC commentary. That was pretty out there! Nevertheless, I liked his commentary. He is entertaining, he just needs to smooth it out a little.

I remember that guy, a real a hole, great player, picks up really cool young chicks to live off of, lousy commentator. He hung around fats too long and ended up doing a really lousy imitation of him.
 
Danny DiLiberto seemed like a class act. He was struggling to maintain with Jimmy but he did a good job. He never got out of line even though Jimmy was on the edge several times. I still think Jimmy could be a good commentator if he would slow down on the booze and smooth out the rough edges. He's got a lot to offer.
 
He was playing tonight. That was the first time I have ever seen him play and he still plays good. I think he gives Earl a run for his money in his talking and harrassing. It would be a site to see them play each other.

i've heard DD in some tapes, and he's very serious about what he's there for. i like that.

as for that nazi statement by PBF, that's not "out there", that's being a jerk.

He had a tape out where he played 2nd fiddle to miz with ewa, it was sold on TV for a long time, I bought it, he came off ok on it, little cocky, but OK. Miz did his miller light shot, ewa just looks gorgeous, she does not have to do anything but show up.
 
All the announcers for the DCC didn't realize that the mikes are live even before the get their queue to go live. They're talking in the booth to each other and you know they don't realize they're coming over the net. I'd be real surprised if one of them doesn't say something inflammatory before this is all over. I believe two of them were talking about some lady in the audience as guys will tend to do when they don't think anyone is listening. Could have gotten bad. Luckily they didn't go over the edge.
